Group Halloween costumes are always a lot of fun and there are many group costumes to choose from no matter your age. The first step to choosing your costume it to decide on a theme.
If you have a daughter and she is going tick or treating with a group of her girlfriends then the Disney princesses are always a hit and you can find these costumes in most costume stores. If you are short on ideas then first decide on a time period that you want to dress up from and then look for period appropriate costumes.
It is not necessary to go out and spend a lot of money on a Halloween costume. You can still look great by creating your own from items you have lying around the house or picked up on sale. Making a visit to the local thrift store, stopping at yard sales and checking out the arts and craft store will all have items that can be used to create costumes.
Some good group Halloween costumes from TV and movies include characters from Batman such as Batman, Robin, the Joker, cat women, the penguin, the riddler and much more. The Brady bunch has many characters, as does the Beverly Hillbillies. You can go as a group as Charlies Angels, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts, the Flintstones, the Ghostbusters with some ghosts, Gilligans island castaways, Harry potter characters, Lord of the ring characters, Mickey mouse and friends, Peter pan characters, shrek characters, snow white and the seven dwarves, spider man characters, star trek characters, star wars characters, the teenage mutant ninja turtles, the Wizard of Oz characters and much more.
Cartoon characters are always popular, particularly for little kids. Some of the current favorites for all ages include the teletubbies, Scooby doo, South Park Kids, the Jetsons, the Simpsons and other superheros. You can also go for fun and adventure by dressing up like characters from Indiana Jones, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean, 300, Transformers, and any other characters from your favorite movie.
There are some group Halloween costumes that work well as they compliment others. A good example is five people dressed up as a royal straight, each person is an individual playing card and when they are together they make a royal straight. This concept also works well for a six-pack of beer or soda. If you have many friends then you could all dress up as a different act from a carnival or each of you chose your favorite work of art and dress up as something representative of that artwork.
There a re specific group costumes that are tailored for kids and include characters from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory, the Wiggles, Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, the Rugrats, the Wizard of Oz, the Incredibles, the Power Rangers, characters from Harry Potter and the cast of High School Musical. Little kids may want to be their favorite dinosaur, a fairy, superhero or insect or animal. If you are an adult taking little children around then you can be a zookeeper with all the children as wild animals.
When dressing up as a group from a specific time period you can go as people from the 60s with tie-dyed clothing and long wigs. Dress up as the Romans or Greek or go as Egyptians. You can choose to go as famous Hollywood actors such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and James dean. Medieval and renaissance costumes are also popular when going out in a group.
